30th Anniversary Strip Quilt Directions by Jane Hill

This quilt is made of 30 strips of fabrics to celebrate our 30 year anniversary.

The finished size of the quilt will be 40”x60.

Cutting:  Cut 30 strips 2 ½” x 40”

These strips must equal 40 inches (cut selvage to selvage) either as one cut or a combination of scraps that will yield a 40” strip. You will need 30 strips cut 2 ½ “ wide.

Sewing:

Using a ¼ inch seam sew. the strips together.  The finished top should measure 40x60”

Suggestions for creative variations:

    1.    Choose just two fabrics and alternate them for a horizontal stripe quilt top.

    2.    Use scraps for all 30 strips. Scraps from one color family works well.

    3.    Instead of 2 ½” strips, cut 7 strips 4 ½”x 40” and 16 strips 2 ½ x 40” or any combination that will equal 30 strips.  Get creative!
